All about renting a car at Careta

  What do I need to rent a car ?

  1. International passport.

  2. A valid driver's license issued at least 12 months before the start of the lease and an international driving license (IDP). 

  3. Minimum age of 19 years with a driving experience of at least 1 year. 

  4. A driver under 20 years old is a "young driver" and has to purchase additional insurance

The rent is paid in cash or by credit card on the spot upon receipt of the Car. Credit card can be used for the Insurance Deposit. Before the beginning of the lease, the insurance card is authorized on the lessee's card (pledge). At the end of the lease, the collateral is unlocked.

Timing of the "safety deposit" unlocking

Unblocking of the insurance deposit is made by Careta within 2 business days after the end of the lease. The same operation for unlocking funds on part is performed by the issuing bank of the client card. Usually this happens in 2-3 weeks or on the 33d day there is an automatic unlocking of funds on the account. If this does not happen, you should contact your bank.

What should I look for when renting, operating and returning the car?

When taking a car, it is recommended to check it for damages. If a damage is found, it should be noted in the lease protocol or simply by making a photo. The car is rented with a full tank and it needs to be returned, with a full tank too. We recommend checking the fuel level at the start of the lease. If the tank is incomplete, then it should be noted in the lease contract (for example, 1/2 fuel tank). In this case, you can return the vehicle with the same fuel level in the tank as when the vehicle is being delivered.

The lessee is obliged to operate the vehicle for its intended purpose, to monitor its technical condition (check the level of technical fluids, monitor tire pressure, fill with the correct fuel). In case of technical problems, please, contact us and report the problem.

In the event of an car accident, it is necessary to call the police, draw up a record and present it at the return of the car. (More on this in the article - What to do in case of an accident)

Any fines that arose during your lease must be paid. Clients who did not pay their fines can be entered in the "black list", they may have difficulties in obtaining a visa in the future. Fines are sent to the client at his postal address with instructions for payment. At the Client's request, Careta can independently pay a fine on the day of receipt without commission.

Is it possible to take a car in Vienna and return it to another city or country?

Yes, it is possible to return the car in another city or country. This information has to be indicated while booking.

Can I order a car delivery to the hotel?

Of course! When ordering a car, you should specify the point of delivery - it can be your hotel or any other convenient place, and it's free of charge. Return of the car can also be arranged anywhere you like (within the city of Vienna).

I completed the  booking, however, I did not receive the confirmation on my email?

If no confirmation is received, please, send us a request to info@careta.at with the reservation number and ask to send a copy of the confirmation.
